Girl Got Goals — a space for girl ballers

24 Mar 2025

Get ready, because Girl Got Goals is coming to Kingston! This exciting new program is set to transform Mondays into an inspiring space where girls can dream big, soak up new skills, and reach their fullest potential.

Kingston Basketball Academy Founder & Head Coach Andre Solomons said Girl Got Goals was initially launched in 2024 on a small scale, and the team is excited to expand its impact.

"We want to create a space for girls under 12 to help them build their confidence," Coach Andre shared.

“The program aims to level up their basketball skills while also building teamwork and sportsmanship skills. It’s about mixing basketball with personal growth — a space where they can thrive, connect, and excel in basketball and beyond.”

Abbey and Meghna duo

Coach Abbey has over 10 years of basketball experience, including three years as a representative coach at Sandringham Sabres. She also plays for the Chelsea Women’s Program and is a Level 1 BV-certified coach.

Coach Meghna began playing basketball at age 8 with Kingston Basketball Academy and has represented the Southern Peninsula Sharks in both the CBL Women's team and the Youth League girls' side. Her next step is college basketball in the United States, where she has signed with the Gillette College Women’s Basketball Team in Wyoming.

Together, Abbey and Meghna are role models who inspire girls to dream big and pursue their goals.
